Hair Restoration in Hobbs and Albuquerque, NM

Platelet-rich plasma therapy is one of the most evidence-backed approaches to hair loss treatment available without surgery. We offer it at both our Hobbs and Albuquerque locations as a standalone protocol and as part of a comprehensive hair restoration package.

PRP works by using growth factors from your own blood to stimulate dormant hair follicles, increase follicle size, and extend the active growth phase of the hair cycle. The treatment does not create new follicles where none exist. What it does is reactivate and strengthen the follicles you already have, which is why candidacy matters.

PRP hair restoration is available at both our Hobbs and Albuquerque, New Mexico locations. All treatments are performed by licensed providers. A consultation is required before starting any protocol. Individual results vary.

PLATELET-RICH PLASMA

Reactivates Your Own Follicles

Growth factors including PDGF, VEGF, and EGF signal the follicle to shift from a dormant resting phase into an active growth phase. The follicle also thickens over time with repeated treatments.

3-SESSION PROTOCOL

Reduction in Shedding by Session 2

Most patients notice a reduction in shedding beginning around their second session, with visible new growth becoming apparent by three to four months after starting.

COMPLETE PACKAGE

Nutrafol + Custom Serum + Scalp Care

Every patient receives a three-month Nutrafol supply, a personalized prescription serum formula (82M, 82F, or 82D), Hair Science shampoo, and a scalp treatment at each visit.

UNDERSTANDING PRP

What Platelet-Rich Plasma Does

Blood is drawn, placed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from other blood components, and then injected directly into the scalp at the level of the hair follicles. Platelets carry growth factors including PDGF, VEGF, and EGF that signal the follicle to shift from a dormant resting phase into an active growth phase. The follicle also thickens over time with repeated treatments, which means each individual hair grows in with more volume.

BLOOD DRAW

The Procedure

A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm in the same way as a standard blood draw. The volume depends on your treatment plan, but typically falls between 20 and 60 milliliters.

CENTRIFUGATION

Processing Your Sample

Your blood sample is placed in a centrifuge and spun at high speed to separate the platelet-rich plasma from red blood cells and other components. The resulting PRP concentrate is drawn into syringes for injection.

SCALP INJECTION

Precision Delivery

PRP is injected into the scalp at the level of the hair follicle using a fine needle. Injections are placed across the area of thinning or loss, typically covering the entire zone of concern rather than spot-treating individual follicles.

Topical PRP application has shown significantly weaker outcomes in clinical literature compared to injection. The growth factors in PRP need to reach the follicle directly to produce a meaningful response.

YOUR TREATMENT PACKAGE

Everything Included in Your Protocol

Our hair restoration program is designed as a complete system, not a standalone injection. Every patient receives the following.

3 PRP Sessions

Our standard PRP protocol is three sessions scheduled four to six weeks apart. Most patients notice a reduction in shedding beginning around their second session, with visible new growth becoming apparent by three to four months after starting.

Nutrafol Supplement

Every patient in our hair restoration program receives a three-month supply of Nutrafol, a clinical-grade hair growth supplement backed by published clinical trials. Nutrafol addresses the biochemical drivers of hair thinning at the root level, including stress hormones, DHT, and nutritional deficiencies, which makes it a meaningful complement to PRP rather than a replacement for it.

Custom Hair Serums

Each patient receives a personalized serum formulation based on their presenting concerns. Our serum options include: Formula 82M (minoxidil 8%) for male-pattern thinning; Formula 82F (minoxidil 4% with retinoic acid) for female-pattern thinning; Formula 82D (minoxidil 6% with dutasteride) for patients with significant DHT-driven loss. Serums are used nightly and are included in your package.

Scalp Health Treatment

Hair Science shampoo is included to support scalp health, with no conditioner included. Patients at our Hobbs location receive a Jet Peel scalp treatment to remove product buildup and prepare the scalp for better absorption. Patients at our Albuquerque location receive a HydraFacial scalp treatment for the same purpose.

EXOSOME THERAPY

Amplify Your Results

For patients who want to accelerate results or who have not responded as expected to PRP alone, we offer exosome therapy as an add-on. Exosomes are extracellular vesicles derived from stem cells that carry signaling proteins, growth factors, and RNA that instruct cells to regenerate. When applied to the scalp following PRP, they amplify the regenerative signal and can produce faster and more robust results than PRP alone. Exosome therapy is available at both locations.

CANDIDACY

Are You a Candidate for PRP?

PRP hair restoration works best for patients in the early to mid stages of hair thinning or loss. The treatment reactivates follicles that are dormant but still viable, which means it is most effective when there is still a meaningful follicle population to work with. If the follicle is gone entirely, PRP cannot restore it.

Factors that may affect candidacy include active scalp conditions such as psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis, platelet dysfunction or blood disorders, recent use of blood thinners or NSAIDs, and very advanced hair loss where the follicle population has been significantly depleted.

REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS

What to Expect and What Not To

PRP hair restoration produces gradual results. Most patients see a reduction in shedding first, followed by slower new growth, followed by visible thickening of existing hair. The timeline for visible results is typically three to six months after beginning treatment, and the full benefit of a protocol takes up to a year to fully express.

Hair loss is a progressive condition. PRP slows it and can reverse some of the thinning, but it does not stop the underlying cause. Most patients who respond well return for a maintenance session once or twice a year to preserve the gains. Combined with Nutrafol and a daily serum, maintenance PRP is one of the most effective long-term strategies available without surgery.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

PRP Hair Restoration: Common Patient Questions

Our standard protocol is three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. Some patients opt for a fourth session if results are still progressing, and maintenance sessions once or twice a year are common for patients who respond well.
There is some discomfort during the scalp injections, which most patients describe as a stinging sensation. We offer Pronox (nitrous oxide) for patients who want to take the edge off. Most patients find the treatment tolerable without any numbing.
Most patients notice reduced shedding around their second session. Visible new growth typically appears between three and four months after starting. Full results from a protocol take up to a year to fully develop.
Yes, and we usually recommend it. Nutrafol and a prescription serum are included in our package. Exosome therapy is available as an add-on for patients who want to push results further.
No. PRP is a treatment that slows progression and reactivates dormant follicles. It does not eliminate the underlying cause of hair loss, which is why maintenance treatments and daily topical use are part of the long-term plan.
PRP is less effective in areas where the follicle has been gone for years. If your loss is advanced, we will tell you that honestly and discuss what realistic expectations look like for your specific situation.
Your serum is selected based on your pattern of loss. Options include Formula 82M (minoxidil 8%) for male-pattern thinning, Formula 82F (minoxidil 4% with retinoic acid) for female-pattern thinning, and Formula 82D (minoxidil 6% with dutasteride) for significant DHT-driven loss.
We ask patients to pause blood thinners and NSAIDs before treatment where possible, as these can affect platelet function. Let us know your full medication list during the consultation and we will advise accordingly.
The results of a PRP protocol are real and measurable, but hair loss is a progressive condition. Without ongoing maintenance, gains will gradually reduce over time. Most patients see the longest-lasting benefit when they combine PRP maintenance with daily serum use and Nutrafol.
